The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) are continuing their search for Jean Oniske, a 37-year-old woman reported missing from Thompson, Manitoba. Oniske was reported missing on Thursday, April 24th, after last being in contact with a family member that evening. However, she was not seen in person, raising concerns for her safety and well-being.
According to the RCMP, Oniske was last heard from on April 18th before being reported missing. She is described as being five feet eight inches tall, weighing 145 pounds, with shoulder-length, light brown hair and brown eyes. Police indicate that Oniske is known to wear a hoodie and sweatpants.
The RCMP are urging anyone with information regarding Oniske's whereabouts to come forward. Anyone who has seen Oniske or has any information that could assist in locating her is asked to contact the Thompson RCMP at 204-677-6909. The public's assistance is crucial in ensuring the safe return of Jean Oniske to her family and community.
This is one of several missing person cases in Manitoba. Just recently, the RCMP announced that a 22-year-old woman who was missing from Thompson was found safe. The Winnipeg Police Service is also seeking the public's help in finding Elizabeth Van Reenen, 57, who was last seen on April 21 near Henderson Highway and Gilmore Avenue in Winnipeg. The RCMP are also still looking for Shawn Roy Miness, who was last seen in Portage la Prairie on April 21, 2022.
