Toronto Maple Leafs defenceman Morgan Rielly is set to lead a star-studded lineup of NHL players and hockey legends at the fifth annual Hockey Night in Brampton. The charity game, scheduled for Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at the CAA Centre, will feature a collection of talent from across the league, all coming together for a crucial cause: supporting the development of Brampton's second hospital.
Rielly, a long-serving cornerstone of the Maple Leafs' blue line, has been named a team captain for the event. He will be joined by other notable players, including Columbus Blue Jackets defenceman Erik Gudbranson, Stanley Cup champion Kris Versteeg, and Brampton natives Phil Oreskovic and NHL draft pick Ethan Czata. This event also boasts an impressive roster of former NHL stars and coaches, including Hockey Hall of Famers Paul Coffey and Mark Messier, as well as NHL alumni Joe Kocur, Ryan Getzlaf, and Cody Hodgson, with Doug Gilmour, Wendel Clark, and Gary Roberts serving as coaches.
Hockey Night in Brampton has become a significant event in the Canadian sports calendar, raising substantial funds for the William Osler Health System Foundation. Since its inception in 2019, the game has supported the transformation of Peel Memorial into Brampton's much-needed second hospital. Last year's event alone raised $6.7 million, alongside a historic $50 million pledge from the Cortellucci family, underscoring the community's commitment to enhancing local healthcare.
Tickets for the event are available for purchase, with proceeds directly benefiting the hospital's construction. The evening promises to be an unforgettable night of hockey, community spirit, and impactful philanthropy, demonstrating the power of sport to bring Canadians together for a common good.
