Ottawa's iconic LeBreton Flats is set to become a hub of national pride as it hosts a public watch party for Canada's thrilling World Cup knockout match against Morocco. The event, a collaboration between the Government of Canada and the City of Ottawa, aims to bring Canadians together in the nation's capital to support the men's national soccer team during this historic moment.

Canada is making its first appearance in the Round of 16, a significant milestone in the team's World Cup history. The match against Morocco is scheduled for Saturday, July 4, with kickoff at 1 p. m. Eastern Time. LeBreton Flats Park, the site of the popular Ottawa Bluesfest, will open its gates at 11:00 a. m. for fans of all ages. Four large screens will be set up to ensure excellent viewing for the expected crowds.

Admission to the watch party is free, operating on a first-come, first-served basis, with capacity limited to 20,000 attendees. While food and beverages will be available for purchase on-site, attendees are advised that only clear bags or small fanny packs will be permitted, and all bags will be subject to inspection. This event is part of a larger national celebration as Canadians across the country unite to follow the team's remarkable journey.

The significance of Canada reaching this stage of the World Cup cannot be overstated. After a 36-year absence from the tournament, their 2022 and upcoming 2026 campaigns mark a new era for Canadian soccer. The team's performance, including their first-ever knockout stage appearance, has captured the nation's attention and fostered a sense of shared excitement and national unity.
