Jordan Eberle scored twice and added an assist as the Seattle Kraken defeated the Vancouver Canucks 5-1 on Saturday night at Climate Pledge Arena. The Kraken snapped a two-game skid after returning from the Olympic break. The Canucks, meanwhile, have lost their fifth straight game.
Vince Dunn, in his 600th career game, opened the scoring for Seattle. Chandler Stephenson contributed a goal and two assists, while Matty Beniers also scored for the Kraken. Joey Daccord made 27 saves in net for Seattle. Liam Öhgren scored the lone goal for Vancouver. Kevin Lankinen allowed 5 goals on 25 shots.
Eberle's first goal came in the second period, outracing Canucks defenseman Elias Pettersson to a loose puck and beating Lankinen. His second goal, an empty-netter, sealed the victory. Originally, Eberle appeared to have scored a hat trick, but a video review determined that Beniers had tipped the puck before it crossed the goal line.
The Canucks will look to rebound as they host the Dallas Stars on Monday. The Kraken also play Monday, hosting the Carolina Hurricanes.
