Canada's Wonderland Reopens with New Thrills, Chaperone Policy

Share:

Canada's Wonderland is gearing up for its 2026 season, launching May 3rd with a mix of new attractions and updated policies. Among the changes, the park is reimagining its classic Flight Deck rollercoaster into "The DareDeviler," a stunt-plane themed ride set in the park's Grande World Expo area. According to Heather Hill, park manager at Canada's Wonderland, The DareDeviler will offer a smoother and more comfortable experience, with new trains, targeted track refinements, improved seating, and open vest-style restraints. However, thrill-seekers will have to wait until early summer for its debut.

In addition to the new ride, Canada's Wonderland is implementing a new chaperone policy. Starting May 1st, guests 15 years old or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old to enter or remain in the park after 4 p. m. daily. One chaperone can accompany no more than 10 guests aged 15 or younger. The park says the policy is becoming standard at major entertainment venues and is a proactive measure to ensure a safe and enjoyable environment for everyone. The park implemented a similar temporary policy last fall during its Halloween Haunt event.

Wonderland is also adding new live shows, including "The King's Banquet," a cirque-style performance, "Watchtower," a comedic stunt-dive show, and "Retrospect," a music-driven celebration. New food options will include Choco Crispy Bites Funnel Cake, Donair Kabobs, and tanghulu fruit skewers. AlpenFury, the park's record-breaking launch coaster, will also return for its second season. Also, 980 feet of the track on the Minebuster will be retracked, which should provide a smoother ride.

The park will kick off the season with a Season Passholder Preview on May 1st, followed by the public opening on May 3rd. Other seasonal events include summer fireworks, Celebration Canada, KidZfest, and Oktoberfest. With these additions and changes, Canada's Wonderland aims to provide an exciting and safe experience for all visitors in 2026.
